How To Safely Remove an App as a Google Workspace Admin
In today’s dynamic work environment, the ability to bring your own device (BYOD) and use your preferred tools is essential for productivity and employee satisfaction. However, this flexibility comes with its own set of challenges when it comes to maintaining the security of your organization’s data. It is crucial to ensure that the third-party apps and tools used in your organization are managed carefully to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance.
If you have identified an app or multiple apps that you no longer trust or need, in the following, we are describing how you can safely remove apps as Google Workspace Admin.

As Google Workspace Admin:
- Go to the Google Admin Console.
- Navigate to Security section in the left side menu.
- Under “Access and data control” go to “API controls”
- Then in "App access control" click on “MANAGE THIRD-PARTY APP ACCESS"
- Now under “# Accessed apps” click on “View list”
- Next to the app you want to remove, click on “Change access”
- There you can chose for the app to access all Google data, unrestricted Google data, specific Google data or block the app so that it can’t access any Google data.
